I’ve been led to believe that the likely cause of hair loss in women of my age (34) is a lack of iron in my diet.

For the past 3 months I’ve tried to eat lots of spinach and take a multivitamin tablet every morning – that contains iron. My hair is still thinning though. What else could I do?

I’m no expert in nutrition but I think, from what I’ve read, that the issue might be with the quantity of iron. I don’t know how often you eat spinach (I hate the stuff!) but I believe that whilst a lot of the cheaper multivitamin tablets say they have iron in, they don’t have very much, or enough to make a difference to your hair loss at least.

I think Claire is right. I think the Florisene tablets are “optimised” to maximise the uptake of iron and other nutrients. I think, if you take Florisene, you’re best advised not to take any other iron supplements.
